A caricature makes the perfect gift, and ordering it couldn’t be easier.

Be it for an anniversary, retirement, birthday or just for fun, it is totally unique and will certainly delight any recipient.

Just take the following 4 easy steps and I usually aim to turn the finished drawing around within 4-5 working days.

I’m always happy to speak to you, so if you have any queries don’t hesitate to pick up the phone and we’ll have a chat

Step-1

Choose your picture of the subject you want me to draw! I can work from pretty much any image but bear in mind a couple of things.

1. The brighter, bigger and clearer the image – the more I can get from it and achieve the best possible piece of art. If you have any other images of the subject – send a few along too – they really help me pick out features that can get lost from one particular view

2. The best caricatures come from what’s known as a three-quarter view, this is one where the head is turned to one side to an extent that one nostril just disappears behind the nose. This view really helps me pick out the features – but don’t worry if you’ve just got a front or side profile,
I’ll still get a great result for you from that

Step-2

Choose the type of caricature you want.

There are several options on this, but it’s really straightforward. All my caricatures are produced on white A4 high quality artist weight 165g/sqm paper – although I can produce work on bigger paper, especially for group shots

Black and White
Option 1
Black and white pen and ink drawing on artist’s grade white cartridge paper, one person with just the head and neck £25 plus P&P

Option2
Black and white pen and ink drawing on artist’s grade white cartridge paper, one person with the head and body set in a scene £28 plus P&P

Colour
Option 3
Pen and ink drawing, in colour with pencil crayons, on artist’s grade white cartridge paper, one person with just the head and neck £28 plus P&P

Option 4
Pen and ink drawing, in colour with pencil crayons on artist’s grade white cartridge paper, one person with the head and body set in a scene £33
plus P&P

Larger format caricatures, or group drawings can be easily created, but we will need to discuss this so I can give you a quote. As a guide an A3 group caricature in pen and ink of about 6 people starts at roughly £95 plus P&P

Step-3

Read the following questions about the subject and mail across the answers where appropriate. This lets me know some critical information about the person being caricatured that may not be clear from the image being sent– it only takes a few moments but is very helpful to me to make sure you get the best possible finished product.

  • Subject’s eye colour
  • Subject’s hair colour
  • Any prominent features not immediately apparent from the picture
  • Any aspect of the subjects personality you’d like to see exaggerated, such as passions, character traits or habits
  • If the subject’s to be set in a scene, any favourite pass-times or hobbies you’d like to see them doing in the caricature
  • What date you need the caricature to delivered by

Step-4

Once you’ve chosen your picture, answered in the above questions decided what type of caricature you want, simply send the images either by post or e-mail.

Then send a cheque to the value of the order plus £3.20 for postage and packing [to the UK mainland] and I’ll start work as soon as I can.

For your peace of mind, no cheques are cashed until goods are dispatched and all posted photographs will of course be returned along with the finished piece of art when mailed

It’s that easy!
